The beautiful game of the female basketball players from the Faculty of Economics led them to win a gold medal. In the women’s basketball match, the Faculty of Economics (FE) managed to beat the Faculty of Education (FIP) with a score of FE (29): FIP (18) on January 14 2017 at Gor Bhuana Patra. There was a fierce competition between the two faculties to win first and second place after the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) won third place.
Gor Bhuana Patra was full of spectators and park supporters. Each supporter shouting their chants. The sound of music and screams from the crowd added to the excitement of this match.
“We are proud to be able to make FE reach the final, let alone be able to compete against FIP. We are optimistic that we can win first place in this competition. Our strategy is that when playing we have to remain calm, not get emotional, and trust each other.” said Ketut Putri Ariani, one of the FE basketball players.
No less impressive, the men’s basketball team from the Faculty of Economics also managed to get silver in this match. FE came out in second place after playing against the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK), (14/1) at Gor Bhuana Patra. FOK came out in first place and FMIPA in third place.
To compete for first place, the two faculties played very well and agilely. The score obtained continued to chase each other, and finally, when the match ended the results were FOK (44): FE (38). FOK remains the champion in basketball this time.
“We feel happy because we can get first place. In basketball there is no individual game but a team game, if one wins everyone also wins. We not only have to solidify our game strategy but also our mentality. We have been practicing for two months.” Said Harys Kusuma Wardana. (Trisna)
