As one of the speakers at the Webinar “Analysis of the Competitiveness of Provinces in Indonesia” held by the Asia Competitiveness Institute and the National University of Singapore on 30 September 2020, Mr. Dr. Gede Adi Yuniarta, S.E., Ak., M.Si, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Ganesha Education University, emphasized the need for attention from all parties in growing competitiveness in Bali Province. He explained that the competitiveness of Bali Province in 2020 had decreased from previous years. This is not only caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, because of the 34 provinces in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali Province has an economic growth deficit that is far below the average national economic growth. This shows that there are other factors besides the Covid-19 pandemic which have contributed to the decline in competitiveness in Bali Province. Therefore, in his presentation, he gave suggestions that economic development should not only focus on one sector but should immediately develop other sectors as a buffer for more advanced economic growth in Bali Province in the future.
