The challenges in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era not just…concern business people, but also the entire academic community, especially at the Undiksha Faculty of Economics. Thursday (14/2/2019), the Undiksha Faculty of Economics held a seminar in the field of accounting with the theme “The Existence of the Accounting Profession in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0”. The activity which was held in the Undiksha Auditorium was moderated by I Gusti Ayu Purnamawati S.E., M.Si., Ak., lecturer at the D3 Accounting Study Program.
Chairman of the Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI), Dr. Made Gede Wirakusuma, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., who is also a lecturer at Udayana University, had the opportunity to be a resource person at this event. Gede Wirakusuma said there are four steps for an accountant to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0, including awareness, education, professional development, and reaching out.
He also advised the accounting students who attended this event to develop technical skills such as data processing, statistics, and visualization; business understanding skills, as well as a soft skill which includes communication, critical thinking, experimentation, and questioning, to be ready to become an accountant in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0.
