” Efforts to improve future literacy for FE Undiksha’s students “
The proud and awaited event by many students is back in 2021 with the addition of 1 other spectacular programme from HSBC, namely “ Talent Pool Development“. In the Talent Pool Development programme, students have the opportunity to gain knowledge related to work readiness so that students will be more confident when dealing with the real world of work while winning the competition in applying for jobs. This Talent Pool Development programme will lead to a self-assessment agenda which is directly provided by a professional institution, namely Talentics. Another programme that is no less spectacular is the certification programme. Students of the Undiksha Faculty of Economics were again given the trust to participate in competency certification. The certification in collaboration with HSBC Edu-center, Sampoerna University, and the Putera Sampoerna Foundation as organizers can be followed again by the students of FE Undiksha. This is the second time that FE Undiksha has been given the opportunity to take part in certification and work with these three parties. This competency certification aims to provide knowledge to students and lecturers to prepare for their post-graduate future, both to become professionals and young entrepreneurs.
Certification activities are designed to be carried out from 30 November to 24 December 2021, online. The activity is not only a competency test, but begins with a Guest Lecturer activity, followed by a workshop on business skills and financial skills as well as a talent pool (training and selecting potential talents). Guest lecturers lecture and workshops would be presented by experts and academics in the fields of business, marketing, and entrepreneurial finance. The presenters of the activity are Prof. Dr. Muhamad Rizan (Business and Marketing Specialist), Nuni Sutyoko (VP and Head of Corporate Sustainability HSBC Indonesia), Alistair Speirs (from NOW JAKARTA), John Eddy Junarsin, Ph.D. (Business and Marketing Specialist), Prof.Dr. Ida Bagus Raka Suardana (Dean of FEB Undiknas). From the internal scope, 2 FE Undiksha lecturers were also trusted to provide training and as moderators. They are Dr. I Putu Gede Diatmika and Kadek Rai Suwena, M.Pd. The involvement of FE Undiksha lecturers is evidence of the external party’s acknowledgment of the quality of human resources at Undiksha. In addition, 3 FE Undiksha students on behalf of I Gede Hesta Mahan Dana, I Gusti Ngurah Komang Alvin Putrawan, Sinta Kumala Sumertaputri were also selected as the core committee in collaboration with Sampoerna University.
After attending guest lecture and workshops, students will then be tested for competence in the fields of digital marketing, product sales, and bank services. Interestingly, this certification activity was also carried out by direct screening of potential students who would later be able to work directly at HSBC. Thus, the output of this activity is not only skill improvement and certification, but also opportunities and future job security for students.
Until this news was revealed, thorough preparations were being carried out. The enthusiasm of applicants is very high, so an initial screening is being held to select and sort out potential students who are willing to take part in the activity seriously and responsibly. In the future, only 40 eligible students who pass the screening stage will take part in the certification activity and 50 people will take part in the talent pool development programme. (team)
