The Corona Virus attack which began at the end of 2019 resulted in hampered economic growth throughout the world, including in Indonesia. As one of the world’s main tourism destinations, the island of Bali is the one that feels the impact the most. The growth of the Hotel sector which supports Tourism in Bali has become sluggish. The result was mass layoffs.
There is high enthusiasm for the health of the business world in 2021 after the discovery of a vaccine and increasingly improved public alert behavior regarding the coronavirus. This will be followed by government policies that support improving economic conditions, especially tourism.
This momentum is what hotel business owners in Bali must pay attention to. Business actors must re-prepare their resources, especially human resources. Local Balinese people who are also affected by layoffs in the hotel sector must also prepare themselves. In short, both business owners and hotel workers in Bali must be prepared to welcome this moment.
To discuss this issue, the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Ganesha Education University held Management Talks #1 with the theme “Hotel Local Work Force in Bali Post Covid-19”. This webinar was presented by speaker Dewi Trisnawati (Director of GaiaGita), guided by Trianasari (Undiksha Hospitality Academic).
