Malaysia, 27 to 29 July 2023. This Community Service Activity (P2M) is quite special. This may be the first international P2M activity ever carried out at FE (even at Undiksha) with real involvement from overseas communities. Taking the theme Conception of Resilient Entrepreneurs; ICT in Learning; Love Indonesia, this Overseas P2M activity was carried out in the Gombak area, Malaysia, precisely at Sanggar Guidance Sungai Mulia (SBSM) 5.
This studio is a place to shelter and educate PMI children who have population identity problems so that their access to education and health is very limited. Facilitated by the studio leaders, Mrs. Mimin and Abah, we were able to carry out this service activity. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to have an audience with Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), the Malaysian community, and PMI children. We had the opportunity to talk about the problems faced by PMIs, the complexity of the problems of PMI children, as well as various things that require attention from both the government and academics. Not only that, but we also have the opportunity to entertain and educate PMI children by introducing Indonesian culture, using educational technology, strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit, and so on.
This activity is still just a start, in the future, thanks to the commitment of the FE leadership and Mrs. Mimin, further activities will continue to be carried out, even including work internships, teaching internships, community service, and research. Hopefully, the hope of being useful to society internationally can be realized.
