Digital technology has penetrated various sectors, including the world of SMEs (Small and Medium Industries). No doubt, the need for digital competence is vital. In line with these needs, the Ministry of Industry organizes various training and competency certifications to support efforts to create SME Human Resources (HR) who are literate and competent in the field of technology. One of the main targets is students, as potential future entrepreneurs.
In line with the Ministry of Industry program, the Undiksha Faculty of Economics (FE) is also trying to improve student skills in terms of entrepreneurship. Many entrepreneurial activities have been carried out and participated in, under the guidance of the FE Entrepreneurship Laboratory team. One of the latest activities that was participated in was the Training and Competency Test (Certification) in the field of Digital Marketing and Communication Graphics. This activity was held thanks to the intense collaboration between FE Undiksha and the Buleleng Regency Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs (DisPerindagkopukm), which was also facilitated by the Denpasar Industrial Training Center (BDI) as an extension of the Ministry of Industry.
The IKM training was held at the BDI Denpasar office and dormitory. FE Undiksha has the honor to include its students in Digital Marketing and Communication Graphics training and certification. This activity was attended by students from various study programs in the FE Undiksha environment. In this activity which took place from 27 June to 8 July 2022, in the field of Digital Marketing, students received training in the form of digital marketing technical training, especially in terms of search engine optimization, social media optimization, hashtag research, and competitor strategies, content marketing, and techniques. -other digital marketing techniques. In the field of Communication Graphics, students gain knowledge and skills in designing and creating promotional content, applying basic communication principles, organizing design project information, establishing design concepts, and operating design software.
The IKM training attended by FE Undiksha was not only able to improve students’ skills in the field of digital marketing and promotional media design but also contributed to increasing the KPI of Undiksha and the Faculty. This is because students receive a competency certificate issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). Moreover, this activity is fully funded by external parties (Ministry of Industry, BDI, and Disperindagkopukm), which significantly increases the points of cooperation and funding from external parties. We hope that in the future, activities that can provide benefits and have multiple effects like this will be encouraged and implemented more often. The hope of becoming a superior faculty in the field of entrepreneurship will increasingly be realized with activities like this.
