As an effort to prevent abuse of narcotics and illegal drugs among students, Ormawa or Organisasi Mahasiswa (Student Organizations) at the Faculty of Economics, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held an Anti-Drug Webinar on Friday, June 18, 2021. The webinar was opened directly by Dr. Gede Adi Yuniarta, SE, Ak., M.Sc. as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, took the theme “Education on the Impact of Drug Abuse and Its Use in the Medical World for Millennial Generation”. The webinar was attended by all Study Programme Coordinators, Student Advisers, and students in the Faculty of Economics. Webinars are conducted using a combination of online and offline methods. The offline event is held in Room C1 of the Faculty of Economics, while online is via the zoom platform.
In his opening, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics advised students as the nation’s young generation to fortify and protect themselves from the dangers of drug abuse. He also hopes that the students will be able to pass on the information obtained in this anti-drug webinar to the surrounding community. After the opening ceremony, the webinar was immediately followed by the presentation of the main material from Mr. dr. I Kadek Darlaksana Yasa. S.Ked as the BNN or Badan Narkotika Nasional (National Narcotics Agency) doctor for Buleleng Regency regarding the bad effects of drugs. In his explanation, he strongly urges that every individual never intends to taste drugs and can protect himself from invitations or influences by the environment. This is very important, because if someone has tried drugs once, then the effect will be addicted. If this addiction is not fulfilled, it will cause many other risks that can occur. Starting from pocket, self-harm, rampage, and stealing. Even the case of death is not a new case in the problem of drug abuse. “In addition to self-destruction, drug use can also damage families and the environment around them,” he said. He also advised, whatever the reason, using drugs is wrong. Therefore, BNN synergizes with government and private agencies, actively participates in providing appeals and campaigns as best as possible in the fight against drugs. He also added, if someone is already addicted, then the BNN also provides rehabilitation for drug patients as a means of recovery to relieve someone’s addiction to drugs.
The webinar was closed by Mr. Gede Wira Kusuma, S.Pd., MM as the Student Advisor of the Faculty of Economics. He is very grateful to the Buleleng Regency BNN for the information provided and very useful for students. Overall, this anti-drug webinar went smoothly and according to the plan that had been prepared by the committee. (team)
