The current COVID-19 pandemic has opened a new paradigm in investing for the millennial community. The amount of free time and the rapid flow of information received by the millennial generation during the pandemic have made them interested in investing by opening a business venture. Most of the business ventures opened by millennials are UMKMs or Usaha Micro Kecil Menengah (micro, small, and medium enterprises) engaged in various fields, both services and non-services. The rapid growth of UMKMs also in the spotlight for the Ministry of Finance, especially the Directorate General of Taxes. Where most of the UMKMs that have been running their businesses during the pandemic apparently only think about their rights as entrepreneurs to earn profits. UMKMs business actors often forget to fulfill their obligations, namely obedience in paying taxes. As we all know, taxes are one of the important instruments to help the government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and also as a protection for the welfare of the community, so UMKMS business actors are obliged to help the government by always fulfilling the obligation to pay taxes every year.
Based on this phenomenon, the Ganesha University of Education Tax Center in collaboration with the Singaraja KPP or Kantor Pajak Pratama (Pratama Tax Office) held a webinar with the title “Cuan Nanjak, Ingat Pajak” (Money Rising, Remember Taxes) on Tuesday, November 20, 2021. On a different occasion, the Head of the Singaraja KPP office conveyed about the rapid growth of UMKMs in Indonesia, but this has not been followed by the awareness of UMKMs members to fulfill their obligations, especially in terms of paying taxes.
